First Post!

I'll be your tour guide through this insanity.  My name is Sarah, but you can get away with Brooks.  I'm a lit geek, music snob and general crazy person.  My posts will likely reflect this, along with my general tendencies towards fangirling.  I'm sure when it's not nearly 4 in the morning I'll think of something more intelligent to add to this.

took me a minute to figure out which Sarah you were, and then you said "fangirling" and i totally got it.

Ha, I probably should have been more specific yes. I hated my old user name, so I fixed it!

Hey, you should have just been informed that you won my writing skills in the help_haiti auction.

I know you'll need some time to make your donation and receive conformation, but can you tell me what you'd be interested in for a story from me? I think we share interests in Narnia, but you also mentioned YA lit in your profile, and if I know another, rarer, canon that you'd also be interested in getting a story about, I can try to work with that as well.

I definitely bid for Narnia fic--I read a couple of yours before my first bid and I love the way you write it.

I was hoping for a Susan or Edmund-centric fic. (Slightly more inclined towards Susan, but would love either depending on what strikes you.) I'm not picky on time-line, it can be golden age, caspian, or post-canon (or between books in England.) Anything you want to do with it really, I love seeing those characters fleshed out, since Lewis didn't give us nearly as much about them as he did Lucy and Peter.

I'm not really big on shipping in Narnia, but if you are a fan of Edmund/Caspian I'm okay with that (though I'd prefer it not be the focus.) Just please no Pevencest, or Lucy/Anyone.

If you'd like a more specific prompt let me know and I can try to think of something, but I'm pretty sure I'll be happy to go along with whatever you want to write.

Thank you so much! I'll send along conformation within 24 hours, did you have a specific charity you'd like me to donate to?

Well, if you're giving me the choice, probably Doctors Without Borders.

As for your prompt, I can definitely do something with Susan. What I often do, when I'm writing for someone, is ask them to give me a word or phrase I can bounce off of.

And which way would you prefer me to structure it? Something more like the series of drabbles I did for Memory Keeper, or a straightforward story?

Ah hm. Word or phrase. I guess I'd like to see something with either the idea of Susan being 'The Gentle' (perhaps playing on the different meanings of gentle) or her faith/loss of faith. Does that help? (If neither of these strikes you as write-able I can try again lol)

I think I'd rather a straightforward story, however if you have an idea for a story that would work better as a series of drabbles that's quite alright.

I have a screenshot of my confirmation of donation, can you message me your e-mail so I can send it to you? (Or is there another way you want to confirm?)

I can definitely work with something along those lines.

I'll pm you my e-mail.

Hey, I just wanted to update you on the fic, since I haven't posted it yet.

The bad news is that my life went nuts, so it's not finished yet. The good news is that I am still working on it, and I've got its structure figured out, and hopefully I'll get it finished soon.

I'm so sorry for the delay.

That's quite alright, life happens that way sometimes!

Thanks for being so understanding. My sister's been in and out of the hospital for the past month, and it's kind of crazy-making to deal with, even if she's home and feeling better now.

Hey, family always comes first. Don't feel rushed at all. I hope your sister is okay.
